On-device AI
AI that runs entirely on the clinician's own machine, so data never reaches a cloud.
On-device AI runs the speech-to-text and note-generation models locally on the clinician's computer, so the audio and the resulting note never leave the device. The privacy posture is unbeatable; the trade-offs are hardware (Apple Silicon or equivalent), model size limits, and the engineering complexity of shipping updates.
For privacy-maximalist or jurisdictionally-constrained settings (Swiss FADP, German hospital networks, military health), on-device is the strongest available model.
